Aiki Budo 合気武道

One of the early names used to describe Morihei UESHIBA’s art from the mid-1930s to early 1940s. The techniques of Ueshiba during this period can best be appreciated by an analysis of the several hundred NOMA DOJO photographs which have survived and the technical manual entitled BUDO which was privately published in 1938. This term appears as late as 1942 in the program of a martial arts’ demonstration held in Manchuria.
