(b. 17 December 1878-16 October 1938). The founder of the Kodansha Publishing Company and kendo enthusiast at whose dojo Morihei UESHIBA taught briefly in the mid-1930s. It was there that his son Hisashi and his assistants shot more than 1,500 technical photos of Ueshiba which reflect the strong influence of DAITO-RYU AIKIJUJUTSU.
