Mongolia, 1924 Expedition to

Morihei Ueshiba accompanied Onisaburo DEGUCHI to Mongolia in February 1924 on a secret expedition with the stated purpose of founding a religious colony there. Onisaburo and his party became enmeshed in local politics and were arrested and sentenced to death. They were saved from the firing squad only at the last moment through the intervention of the Japanese authorities.
