Wasaburo Asano 浅野和三郎

(1874-1937). Younger brother of Seikyo ASANO. Japanese pioneer in the field of Psychical Research. Graduate of Tokyo University. Taught English at Naval War College. Famous for translating works of William Shakespeare. Joined the Omoto religion in 1916 attracted by the practice of CHINKON KISHIN and became one of the sect’s top leaders. Strong advocate of the 1921 Reconstruction Theory (Taisho Junen Setsu) that held that a major reconstruction of the world would occur that year. Resigned from Omoto shortly after the FIRST OMOTO INCIDENT. Founded the Shinrei Kagaku Kenkyujo (Japanese Society for Psychical Research) in 1923.
