Trained early foreign practitioners of Yoshinkan Aikido, particularly U.S. servicemen, at locations such as the Yokosuka Naval Base during the 1950s. Visited Hawaii in 1959 and then relocated there permanently in 1962 where he taught judo and aikido in Honolulu.
