This is your opportunity to download a hi-res copy of a rare historical photo of a young Koichi Tohei Sensei, later to become aikido’s first 10th dan and establish Shinshin Toitsu Aikido, with Founder Morihei Ueshiba. This portrait was most likely taken c. 1952 prior to Tohei Sensei’s first visit to Hawaii in 1953. This image appears in the frontispiece of one of the first books published in English on aikido.
