“Add this beautiful image of Morihiro Saito Sensei taken during
his last seminar in the USA in 2000 to your personal collection!”
Stanley Pranin snapped this photo of Morihiro Saito Sensei during a seminar he taught in Rohnert Park, California, on his last visit to the USA sponsored by Hans Goto Sensei. Sensei was conducting a weapons class outdoors on the lawn, and Stanley took this shot as Saito Sensei was observing his students practice. His gaze is peaceful and serene.
We added the following caption: “I consider it my duty to correctly transmit O-Sensei’s teachings as I was taught in Iwama.” We feel that this quote from Saito Sensei is key to understanding his technical orientation and pedagogy and his total dedication to Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba.
We would like to offer a free high-resolution copy of this beautiful inspirational portrait to Aikido Journal readers to add to their collection. Kindly fill in your name and email address in the form below and you will be taken to our download page. Access is immediate. Learn more about one of aikido’s most important historical figures!
