Have you ever had a question or wondered about some aspect of aikido? Were you able to quickly find a satisfactory answer to your question, and find additional resources to explore the subject further? We have lots of answers for you! In fact, you will be overwhelmed! Here’s what I’m talking about…
We are pleased to invite you to test drive the new Aikido Journal Members Site. We have just opened the site for beta-testing, and would like to encourage you to sign upit’s free!and explore the mountain of materials awaiting you.
What’s Inside?
Right now, the equivalent of over 5,000 pages of written materials await you along with hundreds more photos, audio and video files, and other resources. We have included various indexes and tools to help you find what you are looking for rapidly.
We plan to expand and enhance this new website on an ongoing basis as a companion resource to www.aikidojournal.com. Over our decades of research and publishing, we have accumulated thousands of documents, photos, films, audio files, and more. Thousands of important documents have been published over the years in Aikido Journal, but most of the materials have remained unedited and in storage. This must change!
In order to ensure the availability of these original materials for the research and enjoyment of aikido practitioners today and in the future, we are devoting a significant amount of energy and resources into the making and maintenance of the Members Site. We want you to use the Members Site as a tool for exploring the world of aikido in an efficient manner. Help us to create an organized treasure trove of documents to benefit everyone!
What do I do to access the site?
First, you will be asked to enter your name and email address. You will immediately receive a confirmation email. Click on the activation link in the email to confirm your free membership. You can then log in to the Members Site. The whole process takes only a minute.
The new site is divided into two levels, one for free and one for paid subscribers. Free subscribers have access to hundreds of pages of select articles, the “Encyclopedia of Aikido,” chronologies, videos, and audio files. Paid subscribers gain access to everything on the new site which includes over 2,000 articles, encyclopedia entries, interviews, chronologies, images and videos. The vast amount of content covers virtually every aspect of aikido and related disciplines.
How do I upgrade my membership and get access to everything?
While testing out the website you will have an opportunity to upgrade to a paid membership, which we highly encourage you to do. The amount of material available right now will keep you busy for years, really….
What if I want to make comments, suggestions, or requests?
We would also like to solicit your feedback so we can resolve any outstanding issues with the website, and constantly improve the content and presentation of the material. We have prepared a link that will allow you to submit any comments or observations you might have. Please click here, go to “Topic,” and select “Members Site Beta Test comments” from the drop-down menu. You can enter your feedback here.
We are eager to make the Members Site an amazing resource which will greatly enrich the aikido world! Please lend a hand!

Hi Stanley,
What’s the difference between this new members website and the blog? I’m a member of the journal but I don’t see what’s in the new one for me.
Do you have to get a different membership for that?
Cheers
The new Members Site has all of the information of the main site and much more. Also, we have added many search tools to facilitate finding answers. This site is specifically designed to be a repository for a vast amount of essential aikido-related information.
All that is required is a free sign up. Those who want access to everything can join for a modest fee and support the continuance of this type of effort which will enhance their studies.
