Stanley Pranin has created an eye-opening video documentary using images of Morihei Ueshiba gathered over a 40-year period. In this presentation, you will see the Founder of Aikido magically transform before your eyes through 28 images spanning the period of 1905 to 1969.

In some cases, the exact year of the photos used in this video is known with certainty. In other instances, the time frame of images has been estimated. The photos used in this presentation appear in chronological order. To our knowledge, this is the first time a photo timeline covering the entire career of Morihei Ueshiba O-Sensei has been published.

Through our extensive research work beginning in the late 1960s and continuing to the present, Aikido Journal has had the good fortune to be able to interact with literally thousands of practitioners of aikido. Among them were many of the closest collaborators of Founder Morihei Ueshiba. It was as a result of our interactions with such first-hand witness to aikido history that we have been able to build up the extensive archives that have permitted us to undertake this project.
